The Marston House is a historic residence placed in the heart of San Diego, first built in 1905. This spectacular property presents an getaway from the commotion and bustle of metropolitan life with its lush yards, elegant architecture, and sense of ancient charm.
Yesterday
The Marston House has a rich history. It was first commissioned by eminent San Diego dwellers George Marston and his bride Anna to work as their private residence. Constructed in the Arts and Crafts fashion by distinguished local architects Irving Gill and William Hebbard, no expense was skimped to create a property that revealed the Marston family's gratification for beauty as well as dedication to social progress.
Over the decades, The Marston House passed through many owners. Luckily previous caretakers had the foresight to preserve the property to maintain its historic architectural integrity. In 1987, the Save Our Heritage Organization (SOHO) purchased and restored the estate, transforming it into a cultural center and museum.
